我，叶家老祖宗，从明朝活到现在，朱元璋是我斩鸡头的好兄弟，慈禧老佛爷给我磕过头，世界财皇是我的重重孙。。清朝末年，留洋归国的富家子弟林继民（于洋饰）被家乡广州城内民不聊生的社会景象激发出救国情怀，联手青年革命志士陈镜波（林锦堂饰）合办报纸欲启发民智，却因揭发清政府的腐败屡遭官方打压致报馆被查封，继民备受打击从而立志加入同盟会，抛下了新婚妻子蔡雪雁（李司棋饰），赴港追随黄兴（秦煌饰）投身革命。雪雁本是镜波的未婚妻，为了保障雪雁的安稳，镜波忍痛将雪雁托付于家境优渥的继民，不料雪雁一过门便独守空闺，又因小姑林芷珊（韩马利饰）情系镜波而遭妒忌，在继民出走后遭到夫家的欺侮，无奈走上了革命的道路……。A mother and a daughter struggle to climb the Swiss Alps while they dig into a past that the mother has spent years suppressing.
