该片是根据经典爆笑话剧《狂恋高跟鞋》改编，是一部都市淘金记。主人公马路和肥猫是一对儿患难兄弟。他们离开家乡来到城市，为了寻求美好的梦想。然而，城里的花花世界并不是他们简简单单的头脑所能够理解的。哥俩儿终日盘算着如何挣钱，做了许多啼笑皆非的事。他们租了一间地下室，透过小小的窗口，马路每天都能看见一双美丽的“红色高跟鞋”——一个喜欢跳舞的女孩儿——经过。然而，他始终没有机会看清女孩儿的样子。。电视台记者周晓璐在一次车祸采访报道中，遇到不顾生命危险，多次为车祸中受伤女孩献血的农民工马贺群。随着采访的深入，周晓璐逐渐走进了农民工马贺群的生活，并决定用自己的力量帮助对方改变命运。。"Daughters of the Dust" tells the story of a family of African-Americans who have lived for many years on a Southern offshore island, and of how they come together one day in 1902 to celebrate their ancestors before some of them leave for the North. The film is narrated by an unborn child, and ancestors already dead also seem to be as present as the living.。
