该剧讲述了20世纪30年代中期中共胶东特委发动和领导胶东昆嵛山区人民反抗阶级压迫、宣传抗日救国、进行武装暴动的故事。。2012年4月，城惺学院大三学生星野新太（冈田将生饰）正站在学业和就职的边界，虽然即将走入社会，却还不甘心地享受自由自在的生活。某天他的手机不慎被同学弄坏，对方将一部Chrous的限量版手机赔给他，谁知星野的人生竟就此发生转变。手机上意外出现了一款名为“未来日记”的软件，里面竟然记录了未来数日将会发生在星野身上的事。他起初得意洋洋，仿佛窥见了人生的秘密，可很快便发现自己存活在世上的事件所剩无几。借此机缘，自称知晓过去和未来的女孩古崎由乃（刚力彩芽饰）闯入了他的生活。为了改变注定死亡的命运，新太只得尾随由乃前行，可是还有更残酷的试炼等待着他…… 本片根据えすのサカエ的原著漫画改编。。A COUNTRY CALLED HOME is a compelling coming of age story with universal appeal because it deals with trials and trepidations that most people experience in one way or another, no matter who they are or where they are from.
