Set in the summer of 1852 in the village of Kengis, Northern Sweden, the series follows the young Sami boy-Jussi and his mentor, the newly appointed revivalist Pastor, as they investigate multiple-killings of young girls。十年前，许婉晴和穆赫南相爱，二人的恋爱遭到男方父母的反对。与穆赫南自幼定亲的陈家千金陈珂儿气不过，竟对穆赫南大哥痛下杀手，再以穆赫南的身份约许婉晴来到酒店嫁祸，并收买了许家父母栽赃陷害。许婉晴被判杀人罪入狱，但没有人知道她已经怀有身孕。。
