1929年，胸怀音乐救国大志的冼星海告别了故乡和亲人，踏上了巴黎求学之旅。在异国他乡，他饱尝了屈辱与磨难；也享受到了亲情、友情和爱情的甜蜜；更收获了音乐的硕果。当日寇的铁蹄踏在了中国的土地上时，冼星海毅然离别了热恋中的巴黎女友。回到了祖国，他用满腔热血谱写出一曲曲激昂的音乐去唤醒民众，鼓舞人民的斗志。在延安，冼星海谱写出了举世闻名的大型音乐作品《黄河大合唱》，成为中华儿女爱国救亡的号角。冼星海逝世之后，毛泽东同志于悲痛之中亲笔写下挽词：“向人民的音乐家冼星海同志致哀！”······。Joseph and Brenda have done what many only dream of and retired to the South of France to live out the rest of their days as if they were permanently on holiday.
