As a cinematic travelogue in a contemporary Istanbul, the film explores Komurciyan’s farsighted relationship with the concepts of looking, seeing, and viewing. In his book titled History of Is...。《香车美人》是一部充满情趣的浪漫喜剧。故事描写一对新婚小夫妻，为了要买一辆新车，不但弄至债台高筑，而且还产生了重重误会，本来甜甜密密相亲相爱，却差点劳燕分飞。易文编写的剧本，胜在细节丰富，生活味道十足，葛兰与张扬的演出，一个淘气跳脱，一个老实木讷，居然十分匹配。影片还极富实感地反映出当年新兴小中产阶级的面貌：一对大学毕业的白领小夫妻的薪金如何分配、怎样用分期付款方法来换取摩登的物质生活、上流社会玩意（「香车美人」比赛）如何与众同乐。中环皇后广场和毕打街的外景片段，今日重看，也平添不少额外趣味。。
